Randy Roberts Potts is an openly gay grandson of infamous Pentecostal Christian televangelist Oral Roberts, founder of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Randy Roberts Potts has played a notable role in sharing his coming out story on a national level and in starting dialogue with many Evangelical Christian communities in regards to their treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. He has taken part in the It Gets Better Project, creating his very own video with his personal story growing up in the Oral Roberts family as a young gay man. In August 2011, he established the Gay Agenda, a traveling performance art project which was designed to foster love and acceptance of LGBT people and to educate mid-size conservative towns about the domestic lives of gay and lesbian couples. Randy Roberts Potts has spent much of his career focused on young people: working with juvenile delinquents on the East Coast, as a social worker in Oklahoma City, and as a middle school English teacher. He is currently writing a memoir which will be published exclusively on Instagram as a serial in Fall 2016.
