Houston will become the second major city in Texas with a standing LGBT Task Force. Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings’ LGBT Task Force has pushed through several initiatives in recent years, leading to that city’s first-ever perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2015 Municipal Equality Index, which rates cities according to LGBT inclusion.

The Queer Queens of Qomedy are coming to back to Neon Boots, Houston TX on July 17th 2016 at 5:00 PM. Comedian Poppy Champlin is bringing her troupe The Queer Queens of Qomedy to Texas, again! On Sunday July 17th Poppy and two of her Queens in waiting; Sandra Valls and Mimi Gonzalez will hold court at 5:00 PM. Champlin is a veteran comic with one of the quickest wits on either coast. The Queer Queens will be donating some of the proceeds to LHI; The Lesbian Health Initiative in Houston. This show is guaranteed to be a full night of rip roarin’, foot stompin’, pain from laughin’, fun. So don’t miss a minute of it.

Queer Voices, a weekly radio program on Pacifica radio's Houston affiliate KPFT, is dedicated to broadcasting news, concerns, and events as related to Houston's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered (GLBT) community. The goal of Queer Voices is to provide up to date information on the community's concerns that is currently not available from other local media outlets. The show is heard on Pacifica's KPFT 90.1 FM in Houston, Texas on Wednesdays, 8 to 9 pm, Central Time.
